Power of The Prince

Power of the Raynian Prince

Finally, Prince Laraniss, the rightful Arie to the Raynian Throne, had been fully revived, now more powerful than ever. He stood before an army of Thorum's Undead, an army that once would have been Raynian had Ryoone not stormed the palace and trapped Laraniss away for the past 16 years. The undead Raynians stood in wait, as Laraniss looked at them, they awaited his move. The truth was, not even Prince Laraniss was truly ready to eradicate his people, by his own hand. He was frozen, he had awaited this moment for so long, and yet he still wasn't ready.

"Laraniss, can you really take them all on by yourself?" asked Roux. Laraniss paused for a moment, he then smiled.

"Its not a matter of ability...the truth is, I don't want to do this, I've had countless battles, never have I once hesitated, but if I take them down...I guess I always knew this is what it would come to, but it doesn't make it easier. I see many faces that I knew once." Laraniss replied.

"I can't begin to imagine the pain you feel right now, but those are not your people anymore...Thorum took that away from them...he took that away from you. You will be setting them free, Sly died so that you could free them, now is the time for you to show us your legendary Raynian power!" Roux said with emphasis.

"Your right...I will free all of your souls today!" As Laraniss spoke these words, he closed his eyes, and a burst of energy began to flow from him. "I have copied hundreds of abilities...that is the secret to the legendary power that you spoke of Roux...today I will use them all!!" Prince Laraniss opened his eyes to reveal that his eyes had changed from the Elite red to a bright green, as well as his aura. He slowly began to walk towards the army of Undead, gradually speeding up his steps until he began sprinting towards them. As he ran small bolts of lightning began to form around him as if his speed was creating electricity.

The Undead immediately began to charge against the Prince as he did them, the two sides gradually closing in upon one and another. One of the larger beasts made it's way to the front of the pack, carrying a large mallet, as the two came closer and closer, the beast wound back his giant hammer and swung down at Laraniss. At the moment of contact, a bolt of lightning flashed and the Hammer slammed into the ground. The hulking beast lifted his mallet to see that the Prince was gone, he turned to find the Prince in battle against the Undead.

Roux watched as Laraniss was in battle with the army of the Undead Raynians. He was amazed to see that the Prince apparently hadn't lost a step in the art of battle. Laraniss was countering every attack, and with every landed attack a bolt of lightning would flash, and Laraniss would vanish and quickly he could be found in battle at another end of the field. It seemed as if the lightning had given him the power to teleport, but upon further examination it was actually making him move at the speed of light, giving the illusion of teleportation. Laraniss cut through the battlefield, decapitating and crushing Undead in his wake, making it seem easy as he was quickly slimming the numbers in the army. Finally the Undead swarmed him and a large group pounced on him, creating a giant pile of Undead.

Roux was about to lend a hand when suddenly, a large red light flashed from the bottom of the pile, and the pile of Undead was blown away, at the center of the explosion stood five Laraniss's, each holding a ball of energy in their hand and facing a different direction of the field. They each threw their ball, and the battlefield erupted into explosions, taking out hundreds of the monsters. The four copies of the Prince slowly began to fuse back into the original, and he took a breath, his green eyes shining as he looked on. He withdrew the Dragon Blade and placed it into his left, dominant hand, and the Life Blade materialized into his right hand, and he leaped back into battle once more, and there was another flash of lightning. As he fought his way forward with the Dragon Blade, the Life Blade began to move on its own, rotating around him like an automatic shield, as he attacked, it defended.

As a large group of Undead began to engage the Prince, he spun around and rose the Dragon Blade into the air. "Black Flames of the Elder dragon!" The Prince yelled, and swung his sword at the group of Undead, and the entire group lit into flame, with dark black flames. The beasts began writhing in pain and running into others and lighting them in flame as well, as quickly as the flames were lit, the entire left side of the battlefield was engulfed as well. Laraniss watched as the inferno began to grow, and with it the undead began to fall. He glanced up and noticed a figure sitting on a floating rock, just as Thorum had done earlier. This person was wearing an entire suit of armor, obviously not an Undead. The person raised his arms and a large body of water began to form above him, and he dropped the water on top of the flames, completely extinguishing them. Laraniss immediately attacked and with another flash of electricity he was right there next to him. He swung his sword at this new person, and he blocked him with his armor clad arm, as the two forces collided energy began to swirl around the battlefield, and their eyes met. Laraniss knew immediately that this was a force to be reckoned with, his energy was similar to Thorum and Ryoone's. Laraniss quickly retreated with another flash of electricity. In a flash of electricity Laraniss was standing next to Roux.

"Jesus, and I thought Sly was fast, you make him seem like a turtle." Roux said with a chuckle.
"You like that one do you? I picked up this ability when I was 15, it has several different components to it, but the speed it gives me is unmatched." Replied Laraniss. The two looked onto the battlefield. They watched as the defeated Undead begun to stand again, even the ones who had been decapitated; they simply picked up their head's, and placed them back onto their shoulders.

"No wonder why Thorum's army is so greatly feared, they just keep getting back up. So whats the plan here? The one on the floating rock is different from the Undead, isn't he?" Asked Roux.

"Yeah, he blocked the Dragon Blade with his armor, my only assumption is that it's some kind of demon armor, seeing how it was able to block a sword forged by gods. I think he has some connection to Thorum and Ryoone, other than being a part of his army, I think I should focus on him, and the two in the back sitting on the ridge, I think they are why the Undead don't die." Laraniss answered.

"I don't see anyone on a ridge, what are you talking about?" Said Roux.

"Another ability I have is that I can see energy being formed, within a ten mile radius, at a 360 degree angle, it makes it hard to sneak up on me with any kind of force." Laraniss said.

"You really do enjoy this, don't you?" Roux replied.

"Its my people's way, believe it or not, even if they are undead, I can see it in their eyes, they're enjoying the battle as well." Laraniss replied.

"I see, well I'm glad I'm not a part of your race." Roux chuckled.

"Well I need something to distract the Undead, while I deal with the two in the back and the armored fighter." Said Laraniss with a smile.

"Your kidding right!? Not to burst your bubble, but I can't take on an entire army by myself your majesty, I'm not a Raynian." Said Roux.

"I wasn't talking about you, and believe me, I'm aware that your not Raynian, your power is special, but you lack ability, and discipline. No, I've got something much more fun in mind, than utilizing your powers here." Replied Laraniss.

"Um, thanks I think? But I don't see anyone else around." replied Roux with distane.

"Not yet, you don't. Stand back." Roux jumped back and Laraniss cut his hand with the Dragon Blade, and lifted it above his head. Black flames began to form around the sword above Laraniss's head, and he thrusted it into the ground, which immediately began to shake and crack. "I summon, Dohvakiin, the Elder Dragon!" Laraniss yelled and black flames began to erupt from the crack in the ground and swirled around the Dragon Blade, which lifted itself into the air, and the flames began to form a shape, which grew and grew, until finally, they dissipated, and in their place was a giant black dragon, with golden eyes, and large grey wings, who let out a great ROAR!

"What the hell!? A Dragon!? Where did that come from?" Screamed Roux.

"Where did you think the Dragon Blade got it's name? It was created from the soul of the last remaining Dragon in the universe." Laraniss said.

"I just figured it was a cool name for a sword! I never thought that a Dragon was actually inside of it!" Roux Replied.

"It's good to see you Dohva, I'm sorry to summon you in this situation." Laraniss said to Dohvakiin.

The dragon turned his head to Laraniss. "Prince Laraniss, what do you need of me?" Spoke Dohvakiin.

"It freaking talks!?" Yelled a scared and confused Roux.

"I need you to hold off that army, while I handle the others. If you don't mind." Laraniss replied to Dohvakiin.

Dohvakiin turned to the battlefield. "A simple task, as you wish Prince!" Said Dohvakiin as he spread his wings and rose into the air.

Roux And The Portal

Roux And The Portal

10 Months after Sly discovered that Laraniss was enslaved inside of him, he finds himself walking through a forest. For the past months Sly has been learning, from Laraniss, how to fight using the life energy inside. In order to progress further in a shorter amount of time, Laraniss gave Sly some of his powers as well. Sly has mastered Laraniss's fighting style making him capable of fighting if the need presents itself.
"So what are we doing out here?" Sly asked Laraniss.
"On my home planet, we discovered several different means of travel through out the universe. We found that quickest form of travel were portals." Laraniss answered.
"Portals huh? How are we supposed to find them?" Sly replied.
"It's not as complicated as one might think. Well I suppose I should say for someone who has control of their inner life energy, its simple. You see, the portals give off a very distinctive energy signal. Just as you or I do whenever we use our powers. Now that I have some access to the world through you, I've been tracking them through meditation. The only problem is, I never know when or where exactly they will appear." Laraniss said.
"I see, how do you know where it will lead?" Sly asked.
"Again, I don't know exactly where it will lead to either. Back home we developed a machine that would force them to open in a set area, and we were able to control where it would lead as well." Laraniss answered.
"Okay, so what is the plan then?" Sly asked.
"Well, I'm looking for a portal that will lead to the demon realm. But I don't think the portal I'm tracking leads there. But I believe I will be able to gauge which portal will lead where, just by sensing it." Laraniss replied.
"Why would you want to go to the demon realm?" Asked Sly.
"I used to train there from time to time. I want to find my swords. I hid them there to keep other people from trying to take them. In case something ever happened to me or my family." Answered Laraniss.
"Whats so special about these swords?" Sly asked.
"There the only two swords that the gods ever forged." Laraniss said.
"Wow, really? They must be really powerful. How did you get them? " Asked Sly.
"I found them in the demon realm, they were stolen by the king of the Demon realm. He challenged me once, he truly underestimated me, like most did back then. While we battled, the swords chose me over him." Said Laraniss with a slight smirk.
"They chose you? What does that mean?" Sly asked.
"The swords are picky about who wields them. They prefer someone who has incredible power because that is the only way their full potential can be realized. One sword, The Dragon Blade, is for great offense. The other sword, The sword of Life, is for great defense. But there is much more to it than that. The Dragon Blade can destroy entire armies with one swing, but it can kill the wielder if he doesn't have the strength. The sword of Life can return life to another, if they have enough life energy. No one has ever kept their life after attempting to resurrect another. I believe the key to my resurrection lies in these swords." Laraniss answered.
"Whoa, so we're going to find the swords forged by the gods. What makes you think that they'll allow me to use them?" Asked Sly.
"I'm not sure that they will, that's one of the reasons I gave you some of my power. I'm hoping that they'll react to it, but I'm not really sure." Answered Laraniss.
"I see. So where do think this portal is?" Sly asked.
"I still can't quite pinpoint its location, I just know that we're on the right track. Try to sense it, you should be able to from this distance." Laraniss said.
"Okay." Replied Sly. He closed his eyes and cleared his mind, reaching out with all of his senses. He could feel the air, and the trees surrounding the forest. He began to feel a slight heat, coming from the north. He reached out further, and the signal seemed to shift to the east, then lost it. "I think i could sense it slightly, but it felt like it was moving." Sly said.
"It is, but I think its some kind of pattern, that's why I'm having so much trouble pin pointing its location. It seems like every fifteen minutes its North, but it doesn't stay there very long. I think that if we find it, you should be able to hold it in one place with your energy." Said Laraniss.
Sly continued walking through the forest, trusting in Laraniss's abilities. He wondered what was waiting for him in the demon realm. The past 10 months have been intense training under Laraniss's tutelage, but he had never been in a real battle yet, and he was quite certain that there would be one waiting for him in a place called the demon realm. Not only that but these swords that Laraniss was talking about, what if they didn't allow him to wield them? He was very powerful now, but not even close to Laraniss's level. He continued walking until they came to a clearing.
"Here. It should appear right here any second now." Said Laraniss. Sly stopped and looked forward trying to sense the portal again. The signal was much stronger now, it was like a fire was burning in front of him. Then in a flash and a loud "CRASH" it appeared directly in front of him. It was a large black hole that seemed to just open in the air in front of him with a small lighting storm surrounding it. "There Sly, you have to keep it open, otherwise it will move again." Laraniss said.
"Right." Sly said. He rose his hand and concentrated his energy directly in front of him. The portal reacted and opened a bit more, and the energy story surrounding it stopped.
"There, that should hold it for awhile." Laraniss told Sly.
"So what do we do now?" Asked Sly.
"I think we should go in." Answered Laraniss.
"Are you sure? What if we can't find our way back? We don't even know where this portal leads to." Said Sly.
"I think its a chance we may have to take, I think that the reason this portal has been so unstable, is because on the other side of it, someone created a machine to harness the energy needed to open it. Perhaps we can use that machine to open a portal to the demon realm." Laraniss replied.
"I see, well if you think so, I guess I'll take your word for it." Sly said. He began to walk towards the portal thinking to himself, "Well, here goes." He reached his hand out as if to test whether or not the water was hot or cold. As his hand approached the black hole protruding from the portal, he suddenly felt a large energy reading coming from his right. He turned to look and see where it was coming from and all that he met with was a giant golden fist to his jaw.
He was flung several feet onto his back. He quickly looked up to see a man with blue hair, wearing very odd clothing. It was mostly cloth with some pieces of armor on it, he'd never seen anything like it before. What was even stranger was the golden light surrounding his hands, he looked closer to see that his hands were gigantic. No wonder that punch knocked him over like that, the force from those giant hands must have the force of a large truck.
"Who are you?" Asked Sly as he stood back up.
"My name is Roux, and there is no way I'm letting you get through that portal before me." Answered the blue haired man.
"I see, and rather than just explain things to me, you felt it necessary to attack me." Sly replied.
"Listen kid, I have been searching for this portal for a long time, and no one is going to keep me from getting through it. Even if I have to kill you." Roux explained.
"Oh, well I hope you don't mind if I defend myself. You see I'm on a bit of a quest myself, and I haven't had a chance to test my new powers on anyone." Said Sly.
"Fine then!" Yelled Roux, as began sprinting towards Sly.
"Well then, a battle, this should be exciting Sly. Try to make this quick though, that portal won't stay open too much longer." Said Laraniss to Sly.
Roux charged at Sly reaching back to punch his with all of his might. Sly stood still with a small smirk as the strange fighter quickly approached him, as the first punch approached him, he dodged with a lightning fast duck, and then quickly elbowed Roux in the stomach. As Sly's elbow collided into Roux gut, he was quickly flung back into a try with a loud "CRACK". Sly was surprised at how far back Roux was sprung. With a surprised look he thought to himself, "well that was easy".
"That power hes using isn't natural. He must be using something to amplify his powers. He has strength but no speed, and no formal training." Said Laraniss to Sly.
"Wow, you gathered all of that from just one move?" Sly asked surprised.
"Yes. Now hurry up and get through the portal, its starting to close." Laraniss replied. Sly looked at the portal and could that the electricity was starting to surround the portal again. He quickly made his way back to the portal as it slowly began to close inch by inch.
"I'm not done yet!" Yelled Roux as he reached forward and a giant golden wolf head jumped from his hand towards Sly, who quickly dodged this and continued towards to portal. Roux charged at him again and with his other twirled a lasso over his head. Sly jumped toward the portal trying to make it through before it closed, as he broke through the opening he realized that Roux had lassoed his ankle, and rather than stopping, Sly continued through the portal. He found himself falling through a pitch black tunnel, and then landed on a hard stone floor in a very strange room. No more than a second later Roux fell through the portal as well just in time as the portal closed right behind him. Sly looked around the room, noticing that it looked like a small laboratory and he realized that Laraniss was correct, it was a machine that caused the portal to open.
Roux let out a sigh of relief and began laughing. "Well it looks like I didn't have to kill you after all, I made it home anyway. Sorry about attacking you like that, I had to be sure that I made it home." Said Roux with a chuckle.
"Your...home?" Said Sly surprised.
